The entire line has been manufactured with the highest quality components. From the stainless steel spreader bars, to the high reflective willow leaf blades, these are not your old fashion umbrella rigs. The unique design and color patterns allow for targeted species and ultimately more fish to the boat. These umbrella rigs have been built on the unique concept of blending the fishability of a bent arm rig and the stability of a one dimensional style. Also, all hook baits and teasers are rigged directly to the bar. This feature minimizes tangles and twists and maximizes the time in the water for your umbrella rig.
How to Fish an Umbrella Rig
Key tips: • 100-300 ft. of 50 lb Wire, Mono, or Braid depending on depth • Trolling speed of 2.0 to 4.5 knots • 10 ft Leader of 50-100 lb Mono • Options for stinger bait include swimming plug or spoon • Wire Line and slower speeds will increase running depth Always bring replacement packs, especially hook and stinger baits as this rig will get hit!
One of the advantages to fishing the Spider Umbrella Rig, is how easy it is to fish productively. Start with either a wire line, monofilament, or braided line set-up on a boat rod (minimum rating of 15-30lbs) and attach an average length of heavy leader material. Then attach a snap swivel that is rated for 30 to 80 lbs of pressure. Lastly, attach the Spider Umbrella rig and put it in the water and you are ready to catch. A slow to average troll speed (2-4knots) will produce the best results. Just drop the umbrella rig back and wait for the bite! Spider Umbrella Rigs will produce anywhere, especially when trolled over structure or around rips and shoals. The tangle free design will have your lines in the water instead of on the deck of the boat.
